Siendo/ Being

                                      Retrato #15/Portrait # 15.

Siendo.

Being.

Being so, I think the clearest way
is that my thinking, now
pressed the pedal of the changes,
to transform rivers
in the soft headband of your hair,
trees in metaphors covering the space
of dreams covered with hope,
it is necessary that the tears of a child
break the disgusting face of a mercenary,
let us raise our hands in repudiation of those who
create the differences,
being thus, we must twist the claws
to violators of rights
stop the bullets with the clean truth,
to destroy the walls, to relieve
the moans with the laughter of the morning,
turn padlocks into vibrant
guitar strings of victory,
that our kisses do not hide in the night,
that the love continues to appear between
the agonizing gaps of the windows,
that the music of all walks the sky.

Being so, let us make poetry with joy,
let's launch the agony of sobs
to the remote confines of fairy tales,
that the sharp words in the quarries
break the empty rhetoric of those
that sow death.

Being thus, I hope one day to rest
at your side in the silence of the stillness
stroking your forehead with the breath

of peace.

El buitre/ The vulture (Agustín Edwards)

The vulture.
(Agustín Edwards)

Welcome to the Almighty
which he carried between his fingers
with disgust the lackey of the empire,
who went to the Hades, crossed
in the canoe of the despots
the river of pains caused
for the lies out
of its written press,
accomplice of ignominy
engendered in their assemblies,
the abject stupidity of nonsense
in the:
Nautical Guild of the Southern Pacific”
to sow in the fertile country
the shrewd and terrible death,
fill up with devastation the roots of trees,
digging underground graves,
covering the crimes with the veil
of their forged truths.

Do not forget despicable, every star
carry on its forehead the name of each
one of the missing.

Vladimir Mayakovsky

Vladimir Mayakovski.

Las estrellas abrieron sus corazones
para recoger tus palabras en la seda
suave del éter,
tus manos majestuosas tallaron
en el granito del tiempo
tu voz monumental,

 Vladimir Mayakovski.

The stars opened their hearts
to pick up your words on
the soft silk of ether,
your majestic hands carved
in the granite of time
your monumental voice,
so your heart pierced
for the purposes of life
rest in the magnificent
hot belly of mother earth,
the stencil of your verb was recorded
in our millennial memories,
from your skin the élan embraced the existence
of your people.

Now, between the fingers, my epidermis
feels the reflux of courage,
of the instincts, of the contained fury,
of the dreams choked on the cliffs
of the echoes of your voice go over
the sensual waist of the universe.

Comrade, poet, thank you for your words.

Desenredar / Unravel.

           Mural at Richland Elementary School.2012.

Desenredar.

Se desenredan los hilos que tejen
nuestras vidas esparciéndose por los senderos
que hemos caminado en tiempos de aciago,
el sudor empapo las vestimentas
tiñéndolas con el color de los temores,
para fijarlas a nuestra piel
con el pegamento irrefutable del tiempo
haciéndolas imposible de sacar.

Se desenredan los hilos que sostienen
nuestros sueños depositándolo lenta
en la palma de mi mano,
solo, al momento de regurgitar
nuestros pensamientos podemos
mirar el entramado de la seda
tejida por los hilos invisible del miedo.

Unravel.

The knitting thread that unravel
our lives scattering the paths
that we have walked in times of misfortune,
sweat soaked the clothes
dyeing them with the color of fears,
to attach to our skin
with the irrefutable glue of time
making them impossible to remove.

The threads that hold up
our dreams are untangle
by depositing it slowly
in the palm of my hand,
only, at the time of regurgitation
our thoughts we can
look at the fabric of silk

woven by the invisible threads of fear.

La ventana/ The window.

The window.

From the open window
I hint the objects accumulated
in the dust of the table
telling old stories of love,
from the broken glass  branches
of an old tree try to discern
the ants steps in the
crumpled walls holding
the patina of time
that has not stopped its path.

The cloth retains the drawing
of the crochet stitches,
but the sun's rays kidnapped
bringing it fabric color
to the regions of life.

The glass observed the spider
weaving the fabric that will wrap
the bottle of wine that never was poured.

There was someone waiting for the arrival
of the guests trace the Mandela
announcing the arrival of that once
was a lone star
joint by birds that flying
from the farthest reaches of the earth

agreed together at that point.

Sus nombres/ Their names/ Leurs noms.

Sus nombres.

Las estrellas reflejan
sus nombres
en ese mar que tranquilo nos baña.

Their names.

The stars reflect
their names
in that calm sea that bathes us.

Leurs noms.

Les étoiles reflètent
leurs noms

dans la mer qui nous baigne calme.

Marcelo.

                                                   Marcelo.

Para Marcelo.
Mi tercer nieto.

Tus manos ayudan al tenedor para
llevar a tu boca el fruto sabroso,
mientras tus dedos diligentes

 For Marcelo.
My third grandchild.

Your hands help the fork to
bring to your mouth the fruit tasty,
while your fingers diligent dry the dew of the leaves,
meanwhile your eyes reflect the intense glow
of the constant movements of things,
your steps, mark the patio environment
and fast wind up the afternoon breeze,
your pupils bring the mirage of beautiful landscapes
wrapped in your smile,
your heart embraces the diaphanous wind of the morning,
the garden of Awi is upset to see your tiny figure
peeking in the vicinity of the leaves,
some stunned butterflies stop their flight with the echo
of your laughter
when the hummingbirds see you with the flowers
they make you a bright necklace of colors,
of my three headlights you're the little boy loaded
of joys illuminating the paths of each day,
replicate the afternoon breeze and like a small drop of water

you reflect the rainbow of joys.

Al carajo con las artes/ Send to hell the arts.

Bosquejo de la Tres caras de la Luna/ sketch the Three faces of the Mon.

Send to hell the arts.
Art is wonderfully irrational, it has no sense,
And, in spite of everything, it is necessary.
Günter Grass

You will be persecuted for wanting to capture
the colors of the butterflies,
for wanting to discover harmony
of the forms,
our children will not feel the chords
of Vivaldi and the four seasons
the seasons of life,
of hopes and dreams.

Empty chord schools
of trombones, drums, and horns,
intelligence will be banished
to the spaces of silence,
the asymmetry of beauty and horrors
of war lead us to cities
empty, pierced by obscurantism
the peace of brushes and palettes
they will rise in a single voice of rebellion.

We will look for solidarity concord
the return of music and bright colors
the streets will be flooded with colors
of other victories in history,
with Breton, Stendhal, Picasso,
the destruction of temples
and the Borgia codices.

We will be persecuted for searching
the balance of the spirit,
or trying to understand the light
fleeting of the rainbow, or for wanting
to outline the face of men
in factories, or our women
weaving the threads of life,
or children dodging their peers
with their laughter, joys, and innocence.

Angel Parra.

Angel Parra.

Quisieron ahogar tu canto
con el aire salobre y arena,
con las cuerdas de la guitarra
quisieron construir cadenas

Angel Parra.

They wanted to drown your song
with brackish air and sand,
with the strings of the guitar
they wanted to build chains
and with the box will convert it
in the niche of all voices.

I remember you in the Forestal Park
between ceramics and embroidery,
playing in the bed of the Mapocho
trying to fish fantastic fish
and the voice of your mother dreaming with life.

Your voice brought hope
exiled in the forests of the south,
hidden in the north mines
tortured in the dungeon,
your song brought the certainty
of other mornings and other suns.

Visión/Vision

                                             Totem 1985.

Visión.

Una a una despojaré tus envolturas
desnuda te llevaré
al límite de las sombras
para que la luna cubra tu piel
cobijándola entre sus hilos de plata
y te lleve parte por parte entre
la humedad de las estrellas
empapándote con la sabia
de los dioses antiguos.
tus vestimenta las colgare en el patio
y hondeando como banderas
señalarán al mundo el advenimiento
de la claridad de las verdades,
la derrota de los odios, el destierro
de las vesanias.

Te vestirás al despertar con la aurora
para abrir el refugio de los picaflores,
y dejar que el arco iris merodeé
las comarcas de las esperanzas.

Vision.

One by one I will strip your wrappings
aked I'll take you
at the edge of the shadows
for the moon to cover your skin
sheltering it among its silver threads
and take you part by part between
the humidity of the stars
soaking up with the wise
of the ancient gods.
I'll hang your clothes in the yard
and honing as flags
will mark the coming of the world
of the clarity of the truths,
the defeat of hatred, exile
of the rage.

You will dress when you wake up with the dawn
to open the shelter of the hummingbirds,
and let the rainbow prowl

the regions of hope.

El prestidigitador/ The Prestidigitador

                                    Wood mask. (1985)

The prestidigitator.
"I'm rich, I'm a winner, and I’m the best."

We will do, I,  everything,
I will transform everything into greatness
those who tries to oppose
will met the colossal
an omnipresent doer of bad omens,
his eyes fall between the drops of water,
Narcissus,
lying the reflection of the lies,
procreating the fatuous fire,
the hopes will be sent
to eternal ice,
with his voice resonant sticks the ideas,
despot, his gaze looks on less
to your diners on stage
of his puerile, ladino, mediocre theater
dividing us with old tricks
of his hat does not come sweet pigeons
only lies, lies and juggling
his master demagoguery
of contempt is a spectacle
under the big tent in a circus with
bad taste jokes, pantomimes,
pirouettes and musical numbers,
centurion authoritarian, willing
to the march of his centuries
in search of other times
lost in the mists of forgetfulness.

El fuego maldito/ The damn fire.

                                             Tragedia.

 The damn fire.

My country distort between fire and ashes
the flames, igneous stalagmites disintegrate the space
everything dissolves in the hell of fire
the refuge of our lives between silt
leaves, trees and the wet wan smell
of the earth disappears among the embers,
the eyes of its undaunted inhabitants,
exorbitant in fear, they look
the incineration of their dreams
Dante’s macabre dance, meter to square meter
bonfires erase the trails carried
by his countrymen in search of riches
within the foliage of its ancient forests,
the dark smoke twists between the cups
of the trees looking for araucarias, larch tree
to wrap them with cadence between
his incandescent arms.

Your geography, naked by the igneous tongues
voracious have exposed your skin
scorched, suppurating death,
somber vine drowning your hopes of those dreams
carved between mother earth and wood.

Ernesto Cardenal.

Ernesto Cardenal.

Salmo 5

Ernesto Cardenal.

Psalm 5
Listen to my words oh Lord
Hear my groans
Listen to my protest
Because you are not a God friend of dictators
Nor a supporter of its policy
The propaganda does not influence you
Nor are you in partnership with the gangster.
(Ernesto Cardenal.)

Listen to the poet in his song to the earth
Solentiname burns with rage, the dogs
persecute it with the cries of hatred,
the pins are transformed into crosses
carrying his eyes, hands,
the ink of his bloods
that draw the geography with joys, sorrows
and hopes.

Why you want to silence his singing with revenge?
when his people from their chest take the heart
to build the daily poetry,
to draw the oasis from where it is projected

the homeland of Sandino.

Pero, viene desde lejos/ But, comes from afar

But
Comes from afar.

While in the distant lands and ours the shadows
of a dark night begin to cover our dreams,
leaving the glances impatient in despair
seek refuge in the speeches of the night.

But
comes from afar
the poetry, riding proud among the stars, my hands
and the soft and sweet skin of the inhabitants of the territory
which liberate the sweet syrup of the fraternity.

Legions of hate are scattered in the silence of the afternoon
fogging the windows of our windows, cutting
with his scythe the true voices of men,
wielding manacled diatribes of the past.

But
Comes from afar
the poetry, unfurled unfolding in its shields of war
powerful words to heal the wounds of lies,
bringing the sublime images of freshly cut flowers,
and the plow breaking the earth faithful to the germinal seed.

Inquisitive silhouettes raise the black cloaks of death
filling the pockets of the insensible with the Pharisee gold,
covering their silhouettes with clothes immersed in the banal
with eyes absorbed in devices that cover with the veil
of indolence the coldness of the most intimate of hearts.

But
Comes from afar
The poetry, bringing in his soul the hopes and the nutrient
of the native gods that will be deposited smoothly
on our skin, becoming the spur of other mornings
in an instrument of convocation that will be written in the walls
of our village.

Desgastar / wear away

                                           (Máscara/ Mask)

Desgastar.

Wear away.

It happens that things happen between silences
of the glance, lost gaze of others between
the wind that plays with falling leaves
in the limbo of the tears shed,
things lose the balance between the chores,
they get lost in the bustle of the wearing steps
the words we use in the exchange,
worn out with the inquisition of your voice,
with the lightness of those who say
understand what you preach,
of things known worn by time,
time that does not accept errors, which eliminates
to those who abjure of learned truths,
that shoots his darts conjugated to those
that in the mysteries of the night they confabulate
the horrors of wars.

It happens that things let my acts
sink into the darkness, drowning
between apathy and sunsets, drowning
in the foam of the ocean of chaos,
passing things are lost between
the mist of the morning, worn

by intermittent rains.
