Marcelo.

                                                   Marcelo.

Para Marcelo.
Mi tercer nieto.

Tus manos ayudan al tenedor para
llevar a tu boca el fruto sabroso,
mientras tus dedos diligentes

 For Marcelo.
My third grandchild.

Your hands help the fork to
bring to your mouth the fruit tasty,
while your fingers diligent dry the dew of the leaves,
meanwhile your eyes reflect the intense glow
of the constant movements of things,
your steps, mark the patio environment
and fast wind up the afternoon breeze,
your pupils bring the mirage of beautiful landscapes
wrapped in your smile,
your heart embraces the diaphanous wind of the morning,
the garden of Awi is upset to see your tiny figure
peeking in the vicinity of the leaves,
some stunned butterflies stop their flight with the echo
of your laughter
when the hummingbirds see you with the flowers
they make you a bright necklace of colors,
of my three headlights you're the little boy loaded
of joys illuminating the paths of each day,
replicate the afternoon breeze and like a small drop of water

you reflect the rainbow of joys.

Al carajo con las artes/ Send to hell the arts.

Bosquejo de la Tres caras de la Luna/ sketch the Three faces of the Mon.

Send to hell the arts.
Art is wonderfully irrational, it has no sense,
And, in spite of everything, it is necessary.
Günter Grass

You will be persecuted for wanting to capture
the colors of the butterflies,
for wanting to discover harmony
of the forms,
our children will not feel the chords
of Vivaldi and the four seasons
the seasons of life,
of hopes and dreams.

Empty chord schools
of trombones, drums, and horns,
intelligence will be banished
to the spaces of silence,
the asymmetry of beauty and horrors
of war lead us to cities
empty, pierced by obscurantism
the peace of brushes and palettes
they will rise in a single voice of rebellion.

We will look for solidarity concord
the return of music and bright colors
the streets will be flooded with colors
of other victories in history,
with Breton, Stendhal, Picasso,
the destruction of temples
and the Borgia codices.

We will be persecuted for searching
the balance of the spirit,
or trying to understand the light
fleeting of the rainbow, or for wanting
to outline the face of men
in factories, or our women
weaving the threads of life,
or children dodging their peers
with their laughter, joys, and innocence.

Angel Parra.

Angel Parra.

Quisieron ahogar tu canto
con el aire salobre y arena,
con las cuerdas de la guitarra
quisieron construir cadenas

Angel Parra.

They wanted to drown your song
with brackish air and sand,
with the strings of the guitar
they wanted to build chains
and with the box will convert it
in the niche of all voices.

I remember you in the Forestal Park
between ceramics and embroidery,
playing in the bed of the Mapocho
trying to fish fantastic fish
and the voice of your mother dreaming with life.

Your voice brought hope
exiled in the forests of the south,
hidden in the north mines
tortured in the dungeon,
your song brought the certainty
of other mornings and other suns.

Visión/Vision

                                             Totem 1985.

Visión.

Una a una despojaré tus envolturas
desnuda te llevaré
al límite de las sombras
para que la luna cubra tu piel
cobijándola entre sus hilos de plata
y te lleve parte por parte entre
la humedad de las estrellas
empapándote con la sabia
de los dioses antiguos.
tus vestimenta las colgare en el patio
y hondeando como banderas
señalarán al mundo el advenimiento
de la claridad de las verdades,
la derrota de los odios, el destierro
de las vesanias.

Te vestirás al despertar con la aurora
para abrir el refugio de los picaflores,
y dejar que el arco iris merodeé
las comarcas de las esperanzas.

Vision.

One by one I will strip your wrappings
aked I'll take you
at the edge of the shadows
for the moon to cover your skin
sheltering it among its silver threads
and take you part by part between
the humidity of the stars
soaking up with the wise
of the ancient gods.
I'll hang your clothes in the yard
and honing as flags
will mark the coming of the world
of the clarity of the truths,
the defeat of hatred, exile
of the rage.

You will dress when you wake up with the dawn
to open the shelter of the hummingbirds,
and let the rainbow prowl

the regions of hope.

El prestidigitador/ The Prestidigitador

                                    Wood mask. (1985)

The prestidigitator.
"I'm rich, I'm a winner, and I’m the best."

We will do, I,  everything,
I will transform everything into greatness
those who tries to oppose
will met the colossal
an omnipresent doer of bad omens,
his eyes fall between the drops of water,
Narcissus,
lying the reflection of the lies,
procreating the fatuous fire,
the hopes will be sent
to eternal ice,
with his voice resonant sticks the ideas,
despot, his gaze looks on less
to your diners on stage
of his puerile, ladino, mediocre theater
dividing us with old tricks
of his hat does not come sweet pigeons
only lies, lies and juggling
his master demagoguery
of contempt is a spectacle
under the big tent in a circus with
bad taste jokes, pantomimes,
pirouettes and musical numbers,
centurion authoritarian, willing
to the march of his centuries
in search of other times
lost in the mists of forgetfulness.

El fuego maldito/ The damn fire.

                                             Tragedia.

 The damn fire.

My country distort between fire and ashes
the flames, igneous stalagmites disintegrate the space
everything dissolves in the hell of fire
the refuge of our lives between silt
leaves, trees and the wet wan smell
of the earth disappears among the embers,
the eyes of its undaunted inhabitants,
exorbitant in fear, they look
the incineration of their dreams
Dante’s macabre dance, meter to square meter
bonfires erase the trails carried
by his countrymen in search of riches
within the foliage of its ancient forests,
the dark smoke twists between the cups
of the trees looking for araucarias, larch tree
to wrap them with cadence between
his incandescent arms.

Your geography, naked by the igneous tongues
voracious have exposed your skin
scorched, suppurating death,
somber vine drowning your hopes of those dreams
carved between mother earth and wood.

Ernesto Cardenal.

Ernesto Cardenal.

Salmo 5

Ernesto Cardenal.

Psalm 5
Listen to my words oh Lord
Hear my groans
Listen to my protest
Because you are not a God friend of dictators
Nor a supporter of its policy
The propaganda does not influence you
Nor are you in partnership with the gangster.
(Ernesto Cardenal.)

Listen to the poet in his song to the earth
Solentiname burns with rage, the dogs
persecute it with the cries of hatred,
the pins are transformed into crosses
carrying his eyes, hands,
the ink of his bloods
that draw the geography with joys, sorrows
and hopes.

Why you want to silence his singing with revenge?
when his people from their chest take the heart
to build the daily poetry,
to draw the oasis from where it is projected

the homeland of Sandino.

Pero, viene desde lejos/ But, comes from afar

But
Comes from afar.

While in the distant lands and ours the shadows
of a dark night begin to cover our dreams,
leaving the glances impatient in despair
seek refuge in the speeches of the night.

But
comes from afar
the poetry, riding proud among the stars, my hands
and the soft and sweet skin of the inhabitants of the territory
which liberate the sweet syrup of the fraternity.

Legions of hate are scattered in the silence of the afternoon
fogging the windows of our windows, cutting
with his scythe the true voices of men,
wielding manacled diatribes of the past.

But
Comes from afar
the poetry, unfurled unfolding in its shields of war
powerful words to heal the wounds of lies,
bringing the sublime images of freshly cut flowers,
and the plow breaking the earth faithful to the germinal seed.

Inquisitive silhouettes raise the black cloaks of death
filling the pockets of the insensible with the Pharisee gold,
covering their silhouettes with clothes immersed in the banal
with eyes absorbed in devices that cover with the veil
of indolence the coldness of the most intimate of hearts.

But
Comes from afar
The poetry, bringing in his soul the hopes and the nutrient
of the native gods that will be deposited smoothly
on our skin, becoming the spur of other mornings
in an instrument of convocation that will be written in the walls
of our village.

Desgastar / wear away

                                           (Máscara/ Mask)

Desgastar.

Wear away.

It happens that things happen between silences
of the glance, lost gaze of others between
the wind that plays with falling leaves
in the limbo of the tears shed,
things lose the balance between the chores,
they get lost in the bustle of the wearing steps
the words we use in the exchange,
worn out with the inquisition of your voice,
with the lightness of those who say
understand what you preach,
of things known worn by time,
time that does not accept errors, which eliminates
to those who abjure of learned truths,
that shoots his darts conjugated to those
that in the mysteries of the night they confabulate
the horrors of wars.

It happens that things let my acts
sink into the darkness, drowning
between apathy and sunsets, drowning
in the foam of the ocean of chaos,
passing things are lost between
the mist of the morning, worn

by intermittent rains.

Hoy/ Today.

(Sol de vida/ Sun of life.)

Hoy.

Today.

Today the words changed into monsters,
brought perfidious black omens
hollow words, filled with the dark smells of hate,
traveling accelerated into the dark static clouds,
covered the sun with shame,
words wrapping the epidermis of people
with the sinister plot of shame,
tangled words in a viper tongue
spreading on the world map
the poison venomous.

Words wrapped in other hyperbole's
stirring in the marshes of terror,
held forever in the tendrils,
in inquisitorial ladies' pins,
among the late-night tuxedo smell
words wrapped in banquets,
stirring the bitter liquor of toasts.

Words wrapped in the corridors of ignominy
desecrated in rusty speeches,
wrinkles hidden in hideous closets
in the stench of times past.

Desaparecer/ Disappear

                                    Mi cerebro / My brain.

Desaparecer.

Disappear.

The man is disappearing among the cracks of pain,
their tracks will be filled with acid rain from nuclear waste,
the man will disappear leaving only the flavors of his nightmares,
the moon shadows will be lost in the haze of earthquakes
figures of naked beings wander among the ghost towns
looking at their silhouettes in the silences of the abandoned showcases,
his tears will hang like swords in empty spaces
wounding the air that is retreating for its thousands of defeats,
the trace of their chores faded from the caves
its blurred silhouette disappeared leaving only the silence of the hollow.

The man will disappear between the constructions of his dreams
his voice must be recorded between the palimpsests scattered in space
will evaporate amid the laughter of relatives of death
your footsteps will sink into the theme park of ravings
the traces of his steps are lost in the fragmentation of paranoia
his language alien to the tragedy will be trapped in a web
the scars on your body show the horrible ecstasy of dreams
inevitably man must continue to fight.

Me duele / It hurt.

                                       La Magia  (Cerámica-Ceramic)

Me duele.

It hurts.

When you opened your eyes, they spread
in a torrent the ebbs of life,
your tears wet the sprout
of the last trees exhausted
of the bombings,
the sigh of hope starts
to stumble between the withered rocks,
the walls have been covered with
scraps of useless wars,
and your eyes let out the disagreements
of the unbelievers who thought
in covering the sun with the thumb.

When you opened your eyes, they dissipated
in the distance the red clouds
over-loaded with lethal toxic,
the thick air crawls between the leaves
fade of the flowers that escaped
of the fire vortex,
our eyes could barely see
the landscape saturated with the patina of blood.

When you opened your eyes, you could only see
the flush flight of the nightingales trying
to collect the sweet nectar from the roses
and the reddish colors of the horizon disappearing
between the jaws of the night.

Feliz año 2017/Happy New year 2017

Promesas no cumplidas,

Happy New year 2017.
I wish all my family and friends who have dared to follow me on my blog
the best congratulations in 2017.
We are living moments of cowardice, fear. Unaccomplished promises,
our horizons evaporate with the ceaseless noise of senseless wars,
of children living in the limits of the insanity of all those who are not able to reflect in the hour of truths.

Despite this tenebrous picture I dare to repeat the desire for bliss to all who read my writings, the best of the best in this New Year 2017.

Tierra/ Earth

                                             He decidido.

Tierra.

Tierra, las voces del mañana podrán
acariciar tu prodigiosa geografía,
las que sanaran tus viejas heridas,
las que purificaran tu sangre divina.

Tierra, otras manos abrirán tu piel
con los arados primordiales,
las voces de otros amaneceres esbozaran
nuevas sonrisas,

hombres, mujeres, niños volverán a hundir

Earth.

Earth, the voices of tomorrow may
caress your prodigious geography,
those who heal your old wounds,
those that would purify your divine blood.

Earth, other hands will open your skin
with primordial plows,
the voices of other dawns will sketch
new smiles,
genuine smiles waving to strangers,
the old peasants will guide new hands
in search of the seeds you keep
between your folds.

Earth, beautiful in the distribution of breads
from the most remote corners of your maps
primal voices raise their prayers,
men, women, children will sink again
your hands in the dampness of your belly
your curves will be filled again with the warm
ripe fruits, new feet will leave their imprint
in the wet mud.

Earth, voices will come with clean sound
of stars to flood your spaces
with vibrant souls of new beings,
the colors go down in the hand of the shamans
impregnating the retinas of the morning birds
will be the carriers of other maturing borders
With the new hopes.

Earth, prodigal in the daily chores,
in the sublime companion washing
the old stains of tears shed.

Aleppo

                                     Aleppo.

Aleppo.

Todos miramos atónitos como tus ruinas
se congelan en las pantallas,
de cómo la sangre convertida en estalactita
cuelga de las banderas democráticas,
de los niños olvidados entre ladrillos
viendo los fantasmas de sus juguetes
esbozados entre el humo de las bombas,
la guadaña degüella los edificios mustios
las tardes revuelven su agonía entre llantos,
las mujeres deshechas por las extinción
de las esperanzas arrastran sus sombras
por los lúgubres pasillos llenos de terrores.

Los jinetes del Apocalipsis pasean sus atuendos
por calles destrozadas, olvidadas en el trafago,
los belfos de sus corceles resoplan
el fuego, la hambruna, las enfermedades,
los resabios de los odios, la exterminación
de las pasiones.

Todos miramos como los corazones
desaparecen en el horizonte.

  Aleppo.

We all look stunned how your ruins
are frozen on the T.V.,
of how blood converted into stalactite
hangs from the democratic flags,
of forgotten children among bricks
watching the ghosts of their toys
sketched among the smoke of the bombs,
the scythe slashes the weedy buildings
the afternoons stir up their agony among cries,
women undone by extinction
of hopes drag their shadows
through the gloomy corridors full of terrors.

The horsemen of the Apocalypse walk in their outfits
through broken streets, forgotten in the bustle,
the lip of their steeds huff and puff
fire, famine, disease,
the remnants of hatred, extermination
of the passions.

We all look how our hearts

disappear on the horizon.

El murmullo del viento/ The murmur of the wind.

                                                     Pesadillas.

El murmullo del viento.

Los ojos del pasado volverán
a cubrir el paisaje con árboles
cubiertos con las sombras voraces
de miedos enquistados en su corteza
y entre las siluetas de esas colinas
coronadas con los llantos,
y los ecos de cantos que acarician
la tersura de las hojas,
es el mismo panorama, el antiguo viento
lamiendo la tierra seca,
la lluvia intermitente en su cadencia
dejo secar la hierba que ya cansada
de los llantos emigro
a los suburbios del olvido.

Los ojos antiguos corroídos por el oxido
del tiempo traen las amarguras
de otros momentos perdidos en las horas.

The murmur of the wind.

The eyes of the past will return
to cover the landscape with trees
covered with voracious shadows
of cystic fears in his bark
and between the silhouettes of those hills
crowned with tears,
and the echoes of songs that caress
the smoothness of the leaves,
is the same panorama, the old wind
licking the dry land,
the intermittent rain in its cadence
let the weary grass dry
of the cries that emigrate
to the suburbs of oblivion.

Old eyes corroded by rust of time
bring sorrows

of other moments lost in the hours.

la tragedia de Oakland/Oakland tragedy.

Oakland.

guerreros creadores.

Oakland.

Oakland submerged in sadness
suffocated by smoke and death
looks astonished as 36 of their own
set sail on the ghost ship
to the incognito seas loading
on the cover the canvases,
the music, the dreams, the joys.

The city numb in pain
try to open your eyes to the disastrous
nightmare of a fire without sense,
the creative muses wallow
with anger at the tragedy
without understanding the fate of lives,
the arts all united in a choir
cry the departure of those young

creative warriors.
