Gracias, por tus servicios/ Thank you for your services.

Thank you for your services.

You were prepared to be an invincible warrior
superb, in your promise to the fatherland,
slender, without fear of death,
brave, arrogant in combat,
thrown, in the search of your enemies
you traveled more than once endless miles
to distant countries, strangers, with demonized tongues
and geographies intertwined with history
to make them the mirror of your country,
with a hint of coke and gum,
hidalgo, chivalrous, you killed with a wink of your eye
children, women, elderly, for them your chest
It was full of medals.

Eventually you come home,
alien with your feelings mixed in memories
of violence and blood, you step down from the airplane
looking for the hug of yours,
that vanish with the brush of your arms
you put your feet in the house,
you're alone, and your old war wounds
they open the terrible furrow of nightmares,
you request quick help to find the peace of your actions
the windows close with nonsense requests
signatures of some, certificates hidden in desks,
while the horizon is lost
in the deep state of your anguish
and your eyes are clouded with the fog of the absurd
when you look at your family lost in your clamor and delirium.
