Alegoría.
La muerte viajo
desde muy lejos
trayendo, displicente,
viejos tratados filosóficos
que hablaban de la salvación
de las almas
con la penitencia y el ayuno
pertinaz
vino volando sobre los mares
a lomo de caballo,
imponiendo su sombra a golpe
de cruces y arcabuz…
pero, mi, muerte la nuestra
socarrona y mirada ladina
la enfrento
con el trueno, las flores
el ruido subterráneo de los volcanes
la caricia azul
y húmeda de los océanos
para reivindicar
nuestras vidas en la alegoría
de nuestras risas.

Death traveled
from afar
bringing, nonchalantly,
old philosophical treatises
that spoke of the salvation
of souls
through penance and fasting
persistent
it came flying over the seas
on horseback,
imposing its shadow with blows
of crosses and arquebuses…
but, my, our death
with a mocking and sly gaze
I confront it
with thunder, flowers
the subterranean rumble of
volcanoes
the blue
and wet caress of the oceans
to reclaim
our lives in the allegory
of our laughter.
